Ok so went to eat here because it was right across the St from the best western plus motel where we were staying . And they served wine . Big place with only 2 other guests . Kinda cold looking inside I had a small grilled New York steak very tasty. My dinner partner had southern style cat fish . Not good come o guy ordering fish in Utah .oh well..? Dinner came with salad & soup. Actually very crisp salad and soup was a very yummy green chili chicken very delish. Only prob was that server brought out salad , then closely followed by soup . Quickly came our main course . .....so we now have dishes with half eaten food .. Service training needs to be addressed here in Utah . Perhaps we just ordered the wrong thing.

My wife and I tried this place for breakfast today. The booths were hold backs from the old Claim Jumper and they were most uncomfortable. The people next to us were complaining that they had brush bristles on their toast from the brush used to apply the butter. The menu is a disaster. Mexican, pork chops, salmon, burgers, just about everything but Chinese food. The identity of this restaurant is confusing. We were hoping for a nice Mexican restaurant but what we got was a restaurant with an identity crisis. A coffee menu? Why not. They have everything else. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros. This was the most disappointing Huevos Rancheros dish I have ever seen. It was plain, tasteless, and unrecognizable as anything but a couple of scrambled eggs with cheese on top of a corn tortilla. Nothing remotely resembling anything Mexican. The salsa tasted like a super mild store bought salsa in a jar. My prediction is this place will be closed within a year. There is no way they can compete with the Black Bear Diner. As far as Mexican food goes, you are better off going to Jalapenos or Alberto's both of which are 3 minutes up Bluff Street. The owner also bought the adjoining motel so there is the possibility of getting a break on the food, or a food coupon, if you are staying there. In any event, this place is a huge disappointment and I will be surprised if it is still here after summer.

Terrible food from a box, not authentic mexican.... American is suppose to be better, we won't go back. Staff is not knowledgable, but they try! They need a good manager and a good cook! Sorry, I would not recommend it!

As mentioned by several other Yelper's the food is ok. I wish it was more of one style or the other. Mostly American with a couple of Mexican dishes, or, what I would prefer, a more Mexican menu with a burger or something. Ricardo's needs to think outside of the box and use fresher ingredients and hire a chef trained in Hispanic cuisine. This place has potential, they would slay St. George with the right food and venues. Having a full bar and a huge parking lot is a great start. Bring in a local band with country music during events, even a solo act. My wife and I have been there several times. We understand that the place is under new management and really like the husband and wife team. We will continue to visit to watch the growth. BTW. THE COFFEE IS GREAT.

Okay, let me get this out first: this place IS under new management and it shows, at least according to the older negative reviews I've read here. This was our first time at Ricardo's, and we went in skeptical because of those older reviews. Don't be skeptical - it's great! They say they're getting busier every day, and I'd imagine that's true. This is really an unknown gem that, when word gets around, will be very busy, you watch. Ok, for the details: I ordered the chimichangas - they come as a pair and I had one ground beef and one shredded chicken, both with the green chile verde sauce over them, and the chimis were both delicious. I'd say I preferred the chicken. The presentation was very nice, and what I especially liked was instead of the usual Mexican restaurant style of a puddle of refried beans adjacent to your rice, the refried beans were in a separate little corn tortilla bowl on the other side of the plate! Nice work, chef. In addition, there was a side of very nice salsa fresca on the plate, which also added to the presentation. My wife ordered a way-too-big-for-her shredded beef Navajo Taco (1/2 size for her would have been just right) and it too looked wonderful on the plate, topped with lettuce, chopped tomatoes, onions, and olives. I was dumb enough to not try it, but she said it was wonderful, and as we looked around, it appeared very popular. For dessert we ordered a single order (huge scoop) of their "famous" fried ice cream, and once again, were pleasantly surprised to find probably the best fried ice cream either of us had ever had. Neither of us drink, so we couldn't tell you about their full bar, but extra points for just having it, I think. There is also an outdoor dining patio, which would be really nice at certain times of the year, but it was too hot the day we were there (mid-September - 100 degrees). Oh, and our server Alicia? TOP NOTCH! Nice work, Alicia.

BF and I stopped in for dinner tonite before going to Tuachan. Read the bad reviews from Yelp, but since it was close to where we were staying, we took a chance, When we went in there was not a sole in the place. Not a good sign. However, being brave, we stayed and were seated in the back room near the bar, since we wanted to have a drink with our dinner. I ordered the chile relleno dinner with a tostada, and BF ordered a beef enchilada dinner. Chips and salsa came, and were nothing special. In fact, salsa wasn't very good at all. Didn't eat any of them. However, when our food arrived we were pleased. My chile relleno was delicious and very cheesy, refried beans were terrific, actually had flavor and spice. I usually don't eat refrieds when I go to a Mexican restaurant because they are usually tasteless. These were delicious. A little salad on the plate was also delicious - crisp and with a little spice! Machaca beef on the tostada was delicious, and BF loved his enchilada. All in all, we had a very good dinner, for a very reasonable price. Service was friendly and attentive.

The food is not very good, the service is just ok. Honestly the management is terrible. Would not reccomend.

We loved it here! Came with a work friend, we both thoroughly enjoyed this food. Salsa had a kick with a slow burn, tasted fresh. Refried beans are the good ones, not the ones with so much lard and cheese on top that you can't taste the beans. Rice was excellent, so, so tasty. Enchiladas were so good, I asked if they could add onions (most restaurants I ask will put them on top but won't add because they are premade) and food server did, of course. They did and they were excellent. We are here at a convention, I wish I lived here so I could eat here often, I would. Definitely. Try them, they won't disappoint.

I am too busy to spend time writing a review, but here I am. Dang this place has great food and service. We went in late and were treated like royalty. This guys deserves a few minutes of appreciation. Keep up the excellent service and great tasting food, you are a winner.

The new management has really turned this place into a gem. Very friendly staff, very clean, good menu with lots of choices, fair prices, and it even has a full bar! That should be reason enough to come here. We'll be coming back!

The place was like a ghost town on a Friday night and I got worried, but I'm glad I stuck it out! Our server was good and the food was great. We had 8 in our party, we got chili rellenos, Guadalajara combo, Spanish omelet, Navajo taco, chimichanga. All was really good. I'd say don't be scared of the bad reviews, give it a try.

Meh. I will never go back here again. Restaurant ambiance was kind of like a dingy bar/cafeteria. The food was nothing spectacular. I do not recommend.

Wow... I took a client here for lunch since the place was new and we thought we would give it a shot. What a mistake! The menu is all over the place which should have been our first clue that they didn't specialize in anything. The food was fair at best. Neither one of us finished our meals and now joke about going there.

Went to Ricado's tonight. I was hoping it was like the Las Vegas one. It was not. We all thought it was a mexican food restaurant and decided to give it a try. Service was slow and bad. The orders were mixed up. Our server had to come back several times to ask what we had ordered again. The Manager on duty and no clue what was going on. The food was American, However, it did have American/ Mexican food. Daughter ordered mac and cheese. lumpy and dry. After looking at the 80's style food, I really didnt want to order anything but opted with nachos feeling it was the safest thing to eat. They didnt have the beer on tap, they were out of that. We had to pay our own bill which would not have been a big deal if we were told to do so. When we were told to go up front we waited for the manager to come. For being so slow and "dead" it was a horrible experience. I couldn't leave fast enough. Needless to say I will not be returning and I will pass along the word. I would suggest you skip this spot all together...

This was the worst food I've had in St. George in a long time. Went for lunch about a week ago and we were the only people in the place. We had french dip and BLT. The french dip came out dry and tough to the point where the dip didn't even help. French fries were under cooked. Don't even bother with this one. They will be out of business in 3-6 months...

My boyfriend and I had a terrific meal on Valentines Day and the Prime Rib Special was cooked exactly how I ordered it. Loved the whole meal! Service levels were attentive and not smothering. I would highly recommend Ricardo's in St. George as the menu selection is awesome.
